uncovered

Someone had dumped branches into a ditch. It was covered with a carpet. The branches still pliable were springy. My kid found a long stick and was trying to jump from one side of the ditch to the other. May have been how it was done before bridges. Traveling has become relatively safe, since the days of having to rely on physical strength, mental agility, and determination to the destination. This waterway was created by the run off from streets and houses in the surrounding area.
The erosion uncovered a concrete pipe that was buried. I doubt it would have been put so close to the edge when it was originally laid. This area is still being used for agriculture. There was a car, a piano and a variety of other discards in the ditch. A neatly stacked pile of bricks made me wonder about the person that left them. Perhaps an attempt to ease their conscience. Bushes, trees and little critters. A woman was walking her dogs none of them were on leashes. Luckily we were on the opposite side of the ditch, her dogs were aggressive and two ran toward the shallow end of the ditch to get closer to us. She had no control over her dogs. Some people have a way of being pushy. They've done it for so long they've forgotten. They will probably never know how many people they've inconvenienced over the years. They surround themselves with people that would never make them see. What is buried beneath the surface of our lives? I've watched in my child times he is sincere, have been his most challenging. The illusion of life is created before my eyes, I watch if he can find his way through something that is very plain and simple for me to see. The learning process.

Walking back to the car I took a picture of a root that was broken off from a larger near by dead root ball
